Evenings of chamber music,
in a church that has been listening for nine hundred years.
The series
Note in Abbazia was born to give young classical musicians a stage worthy of their talent, and to bring the cultural heritage of this land back into the open.
The abbey church has carried sound since the twelfth century. Its stone was cut before anyone thought to measure how a room should sound, and it turned out right anyway: a note played here does not stop at the wall, it stays in the air a moment longer than you expect.
Late afternoons in September, at five, when the light comes in low through the west windows and the stone gives back the warmth of the day.
